Craig Fairbrass (Muscle, Rise of the Footsoldier) and Robert Glenister (Curfew, Live by Night) have joined the cast of UK crime thriller Villain, the feature debut of Philip Barantini, which has started shooting on location in London. The film follows a former criminal’s release from prison, and his attempts to help his family by reconnecting with his daughter and clearing his brother’s debt.

Filming has been underway for new, dark British comedy Brighton, starring Larry Lamb (The Hatton Garden Job, Eastenders), Phil Davis (Vera Drake, Riviera), Lesley Sharp (Scott & Bailey, The Full Monty), Marion Bailey (Mr. Turner, The Crown) and Adjoa Andoh (Invictus, Brotherhood). It’s co-written and directed by Stephen Cookson (Stanley, A Man of Variety, My Angel) and adapted from a stage play by Steven Berkoff (The Borgias, A Clockwork Orange).
Brighton is due for release in spring 2020.
